Boeing Shared Services Impacted By 6% Payroll Cut
Boeing plans to shed 6% of its overall workforce, roughly 10,000 jobs, after reporting a $56 million loss in the fourth quarter. The job cuts include a plan announced in December to reduce the payroll at Boeing Commercial Airplanes by 4,500 employees. Integrated Defense Systems (IDS) also has already announced a plan to reduce the payroll at its Wichita site by about 900 workers.

Hilton Increase Reach of their Memphis Shared Services Centre
Hilton Hotel Corp. is moving part of its corporate headquarters to Memphis where the company currently has its main shared services centre. Hilton spokeswoman Ellen Gonda said "We will continue to look at other shared services to possibly relocate to Memphis, including purchasing, certain accounting functions and additional IT functions." This move will create 100 or more jobs.

Somerset County Council Says its Shared Services Will Save More Than Expected in Procurement Function
