sharedserviceslink.com news July/August

Dear Colleague,

If you had a week or two off during August, a very big 'welcome back'! You may now be faced with the terrifying reality that there are only 4 months left in the year, and barely 70 working days to meet certain operational targets. If you are off or on track for Christmas success, we can help you meet or bust those targets. So please read on.

Other than the well filtered news stories listed here, this month's newsletter looks at 3 topical areas: first off the bat is the monster of a function: purchase to pay. It costs F&A functions too much money today, and shouldn't, so if you are battling with PO compliancy, Procurement, Suppliers or Paper, then join us at 'Toning Up Purchase to Pay to Attain Toucless Processing' in Paris. But before this be sure to attend our one day masterclass on changing the behaviour of your Procurement colleagues, and dial into our webinar '5 Golden rules for making automated P2P really work for your organisation' facilitated by EGS. Secondly, if you are involved in optimising your company's working capital, then we have a free presentation for you. And finally, with companies like Michelin outsourcing F&A recently, we have to ask ourselves why aren't the rest of us? This month's free research highlight looks at the logic behind BPO-ing.

71% of Companies Rank Working Capital Optimisation as 'High Priority'
Have you notice there’s a lot of noise around the ‘sexy’ topic of working capital optimisation?  Maybe there is more of a loud chatter in the US, and only a soft murmur in Europe.  There seems to have been a surge in working capital information in the US recently, but dare I say Shared Services Directors and Finance Directors are simply gathering information, and ‘taking a peek’ rather than actually instigating working capital optimisation (WCO) projects?
